WHAT IS FAIR TOURISM? Towards a better understanding of the concept
Solidarity Tourism, but also fair, responsible, sustainable, ethical… what is exactly this new form of tourism which has just appeared in the midst of many debates and contradictions?
The definition of this "alternative" tourism often encompasses different aspects and raises many questions: what is the difference between all these different aspects? Do all these definitions have one aspect in common? How can we solve this problem?
First of all, it seems really essential to answer to one of these questions in particular. Is there a common main line? Yes, there is one. This connection is not only a very simple concept, but it is also essential: the respect. The basis of these definitions is a way to see tourism as an action devoted to the respect and understanding of the other, as well as the environment surrounding it. Downloads |
