Who are the BITS members? Here is a brief description of the kind of organizations that can be found among BITS members.
|
Our members The BITS counts among its members public and private organizations, mainly non-profit but also profit making. Among them there are national tourism associations, holiday centres and youth hostel networks, agencies and operators, trade unions, cooperatives, NGOs, teaching institutions and official tourism organizations, which all play a useful part in social tourism. The BITS currently has nearly 140 member organizations in 35 countries.
The BITS members are divided into three member categories: active members, split into three levels; honorary members under public law and honorary members.
The BITS is pleased to currently welcome as honorary members under public law about ten governments (or relevant authorities) that show their interest in the development of social tourism. The BITS is keen to see more countries sharing its concern to make tourism accessible to all and to develop tourism in a humanist and social perspective joining the list of those honorary members under public law.
