Renewal of the Partnership agreement with SEGITTUR

On February 21st of this year, the ISTO President, Jean-Marc Mignon and the President of SEGITTUR, Javier Bustamante Moreno, signed a new partnership agreement in Brussels.

Both organisations signed an agreement to promote the project Europe Senior Tourism, a Spanish pilot project for tourist exchanges of European seniors which showed the advantageous effects of these exchanges on the levels of economic activity, in the conflict against the seasonality, on the level of active ageing of the population and in the building of a European citizenship.

The purpose of this convention is to promote and to introduce the project Europe Senior Tourism, started by TURESPAÑA via SEGITTUR, outside Spain. ISTO promises to facilitate and contribute to the promotion of the project to competent, European private and public organizations interested in social tourism. ISTO also agreed facilitate relations and contacts with other partners interested to formalize conventions of partnership with other countries, regions, associations and institutions in the EU so that this initiative and its benefits is accessible for the biggest number of European citizens.

The project Europe Senior Tourism will therefore be able to rely on ISTO for a presence in its communication activities (Website, newsletters, magazine, etc). SEGITTUR, for its part, agrees to participate entirely in a series of actions of promotion of social tourism set up by ISTO (conferences, studies, congress, forum, or seminaries) through the most appropriate ways (sponsorship, presentations, reports).

Finally, both organizations promise to collaborate in the development of programs in the field of innovation in tourism and in the implementation of projects in the field of social tourism.
